Integrator and dry hire company Impress AV from Cuijk in The Netherlands has 20 years of experience in the audio-visual industry and has recently appointed to renew the audio system in a training center in their region.
The question arose after there had been a fire in the building. Project leader Niels Lammers from Impress explains:
“Built-in speakers were present throughout the building, but only some of them had suffered fire damage. The challenge therefore lay in managing a mix between existing and new ceiling speakers that were both part of the new sound plan. The defective amplifiers have been replaced by Dynacord C-2800FDi amplifiers that work with SONICUE software, this software turned out to be the key to resolve this quickly and correctly. Using GENERIC files, speakers from external brands could also be connected with the correct settings. In this way we were able to offer our customer one central system.“
The largest rooms, the auditorium and the main room were equipped with EVID-C8.2D ceiling speakers from Electro-Voice. 10 pieces of these speakers in combination with 2 RE3 wireless handheld microphones with an ND86 head ensure good intelligibility and clear sound reproduction in the halls. Everything was neatly processed in an audio rack so that the complete system makes it possible to control all 8 rooms separately by means of the SONICUE software that controls the 4 Dynacord C2800FDi amplifiers.
